This prototype uses invented timing, speed and GPS samples. It is not a live feed or an official result.
- Gap & interval
- Tap the P / PC heading to switch between overall and class scoring. This changes position, gap and interval while keeping rows in overall race order. Class interval is to the preceding car in the same class, even when other classes sit between them. The Show selector in the Timing and Map header controls car visibility. All cars clears the current search and visibility filters. Search and Favorites remain separate from scoring. Lap deficits remain expressed in laps.
- Weekend rules
- The V-RoR profile belongs only to Veterans Race of Remembrance at VIR, November 5–8, 2026. This is an exhibition test event, separate from Zenith. The race rules apply to the relevant race session. General regulations §9.6.10 require four stops of at least 4:00, measured between pit-entry and pit-exit timing lines. A shorter extra visit cannot count toward those four. The 3h / 5h rolling total is a planning interpretation of §9.6.8; confirm its “consecutively” wording with race control. The five-hour window uses clock time, while eligible driving excludes pit time and red flags; the 5h total follows the driver across entries. Actual history, race-control state and official stop eligibility are not connected.
- AVG 5
- Average of the five most recent valid, green-flag laps without a pit stop. Invalid, pit and Code 60 laps remain visible in lap history.
- Pit stops, SLP & LPT
- Pit stops is the sample count of pit visits, with the lap of the latest visit. SLP is time since the last pit exit. LPT is the duration of the last completed pit visit, from pit in to pit out. An active pit timer is shown separately.
- Customize your display
- Timing, Speed and Map open directly on the data. Tap Customize to choose fields, filters, reference laps or map options. Tap Done to hide the setup controls again. Your display choices are stored in this browser.
- Compact timing & selected fields
- Each row shows only the fields you choose. Customize shows open field groups in lap-pace, race, pit, weekend-rule and track-status order. The seven lap-pace choices fit on one desktop row; phone layouts keep the controls readable. Fewer selected fields keep phone rows shorter. Select a car to open its scrolling lap history, including the driver recorded for each lap, pit-stop durations and available penalties. Other timing fields remain available in Customize. Your selected fields are saved in this browser. Fastest valid lap in each class is purple; each other car’s personal best is green. Last lap is neutral.
- Pit Entry Line ETA
- PEL means Pit Entry Line. Tap its table heading for an explanation. The ETA estimates the next arrival at the configured pit-entry point, not the pit box. Under green, it averages the travel time over the remaining part of the circuit from the car’s five most recent eligible green laps, using current lap position. If those traces are unavailable, it falls back to recent average lap time scaled by the remaining circuit distance. If pit entry has already been passed, the estimate continues around the next lap.
- Code 60 ETA
- Under Code 60, remaining forward circuit distance is divided by 60 km/h: one kilometre takes 60 seconds. This assumes Code 60 continues until arrival and does not forecast a return to green or a deceleration phase. A pitted, retired or stale car is not treated as a normal moving arrival.
- ETA demonstration
- The demo supports Green pace and Code 60 arrival assumptions at the current simulated positions. The scenario changes the arrival-time assumption; it does not change the speed-demo playback. A real connection will use race-control state and live position automatically. The demo’s pit-entry point is illustrative and must be calibrated to VIR before live use. This event’s supplied rules use SC/FCY; the Code 60 option remains a separate scenario, not an assertion that V-RoR uses Code 60.
- Sectors & predicted lap
- S1, S2 and S3 show the latest completed lap. PRED estimates elapsed lap time plus the remaining time on the car’s own best lap at the same distance. Estimates are unavailable without a usable on-track position.
- Live coaching
- A completed baseline lap stays fixed while selected cars build their current-lap traces. The speed and time-delta graphs share distance around the lap. Time delta is the car’s elapsed time minus the baseline’s elapsed time at the same distance: positive means behind, negative means ahead. The zero line is the reference. Curves stop at each car’s available sample and restart with a new lap. Freeze holds both graphs and the optional coaching map together. A stale trace is retained with a faded, dashed style, without a current delta. Faster instantaneous speed alone does not establish a faster lap.
- Current, peak & lap average speed
- Current speed is an instantaneous sample. Peak is the highest sampled speed in the selected lap or loaded laps, not a fixed speed trap. Lap average is circuit distance divided by lap time. A dash means a current sample is unavailable, not that a car is stationary.
- Completed-lap chart
- Completed laps supports one baseline plus up to seven comparison laps, including different laps of the same car. Use Add comparison above the graph, then select a car and lap in Customize. Completed laps, live speed and time delta use the same circuit distance and corner references. Choose Full lap or a section to focus all three graphs. Corner views include linked corners and 250 metres of approach and exit context; overlapping views deliberately keep the corner’s full shape in view. The speed and time-slip graphs share an inspection cursor. Time slip is selected-lap elapsed time minus baseline elapsed time at the same distance: positive is behind and negative is ahead. The legend also shows the total lap difference at the line. The inspection slider gives the corner name, speed, elapsed time and gain/loss for each selected lap at that position. Front Straight wraps across start/finish, so its end-of-lap and beginning-of-lap traces stay separate. Corner distances are estimates from the supplied map and need GPS calibration.
- Search & favorites
- The Favorites button beside the session clock opens the complete car list. Search by number, team, driver or class and tap Add beside any car to save it. The All cars tab searches every entry even if your current display hides it. Show matches applies that search to Timing or Map and replaces the current car filters. Show favorites displays all saved cars. Closing the picker leaves your current view filters unchanged. Stars are saved immediately in this browser.
- Map favorites & camera
- Map → Customize → Favorites shows the cars you have starred. Choose favorites or the Favorites button opens the full roster, and the star in the selected-car readout edits the same favorites used in Timing. The map has its own visibility choice, so Timing’s Favorites filter cannot silently hide cars from Map → All cars. Camera follow tracks one car from the displayed group without changing that group. Choosing Whole track or a group filter restores the full-circuit view.
- Corner references
- Numbered turns follow the supplied VIR Full Course map. Front Straight runs from T17 to T1, including T18 and start/finish. Back Straight runs from T12 to T13. Esses (T7–T9) is one section; the other A/B turn labels stay separate. There are no separate entry, apex or exit labels. Coaching windows are broader than the location-label spans: linked corner complexes and 250 metres on either side provide approach and exit context. Adjacent coaching views can overlap. The selected corner has the brighter reference band; neighboring labels remain visible. Map labels can be hidden in Customize. Show pitlane separately hides the pit route, its labels and cars positioned on that route; it never moves those cars onto the circuit or changes pit calculations. In Speed, choose a Section to focus the live speed, delta and completed-lap overlays. Completed laps and the inspection slider now align by distance. Front Straight is split at start/finish so the end and start of one lap are not joined as consecutive samples. Section distances are estimates from the reference outline and need real GPS or path-distance calibration. Last known identifies an older position, never a current stopped-car notice.
- Session results
- Results keeps each session separate. Practice and qualifying initially sort by fastest valid lap; races use reported classification, with laps and total time as a fallback when positions are absent. Sort can change the view. Class filters retain overall ranks and show class-relative positions and gaps. Unloaded sessions stay empty. Select two to eight recorded best laps to open their Speed comparison. Ask AI drafts a question for that session without sending it.
- AI conversation
- Ask about laps, pace, track position, published event references or the app without an account. The conversation brings up speed and time-slip overlays, corner gains/losses, conditional catch scenarios or cited document passages. Follow-ups remember selected cars and sections in this tab. The current demo has simulated race laps and sample lap-driver records; missing qualifying or other historical data is identified. Send shares your message, a short recent conversation and compact validated race results with the AI. Organizers manage event references in their private workflow outside this website and explicitly approve each document for public answers. The assistant can inspect only currently published references; it cannot access private files or credentials. Document answers include the source, revision and page. Submit a question to request an explanation; AI review from the Speed graph opens a preview first. Requests share the app’s $100 monthly UTC allowance across all visitors, with conservative usage estimates. Browser sessions manage request limits without requiring an account. The conversation clears on reload or New chat, is not saved by this app, and is not visible to other visitors. Neither AI nor its shortcuts change pit or compliance settings. A pace scenario assumes constant averages and cannot establish fuel sufficiency, mandatory-stop eligibility or a guaranteed overtake.
- GPS map & freshness
- The VIR Full Course reference outline follows the supplied facility map; it is not surveyed GPS geometry and its pit route and timing-line markers are illustrative. Positions and sample classes are simulated. The map and live speed overlays use the same simulated lap progress. A No signal marker shows the last received position; it does not indicate a stopped car. Its readout gives the age of that position, and current speed stays unavailable. Retired cars are not shown as moving. A real connection will require source timestamps and lap-position or GPS data.
